10 Healthy Lunch Ideas

Everyone wanted to know about some healthy lunch ideas!  So I am going to give you my top 10 ideas and also links to a bunch more!  I hope this will help you in planning lunches to take to work, pack for your whole family or to eat at home.

1. Grilled Chicken Salad

This is my go to lunch!  I usually grill up a bunch of chicken at the beginning of the week and use this on mine and my hubby’s salads.  I usually add in some slivered almonds that I buy at trader joe’s, cucumbers, tomatoes, and cut up peppers.  Then I top with Tessemae’s Salad dressing.  My favorite is Southwest Ranch.

2. Tuna Salad Boats or Cucumber Boats

This is an easy one!  Click on the link to see a recipe for it, I usually just throw this one together, but you can also carve out cucumbers and put the tuna inside and top with some cut mini-tomatoes.

3. Leftovers

I eat leftovers a lot for lunch!  It is easy and fast!  Just make an extra portion when you cook dinner and take it with you!

4. Chicken and Avacado Salad

Really just throw avocado, pulled chicken (off a rotisserie chicken would be best!), lime, green onions, cilantro and mayo if you want and mix it up and yum yum! Healthy fat and protein!

5. Southwestern Quinoa Salad

You really can throw anything in with Quinoa!  cook up some Quinoa in your rice cooker (same as white rice) and have it for the week.  You do not need a ton, just a little bit.  Add to salad or as a side.  This recipe is like a burrito bowl!

6. Slow cooker lettuce wrap tacos

You can do this with chicken, pork or beef.  There are so many healthy crockpot recipes for meat!  Make up some meat this way over night and then use it for lunches the next day!  Buy romaine lettuce leafs and use them as the “wrap”, also you could use corn tortillas as well.

7. Greek Salad and Chicken Sausage

I love everything greek!  So here is a recipe for an easy greek salad!  Cook up a chicken sausage in the morning and have it on the side to get some protein or even cut into pieces and mix in.  Aidelle’s, Trader Joe’s and Applegate have good chicken sausages of various flavors.

8. Veggies wrapped with Lunch Meat

You can see this in Nom Nom Paleo’s post on whole 30 lunches, but it is a super easy lunch.  Grab some lunch meat (preferably nitrate free) and wrap it around some cut up peppers and cucumbers.

9. Egg Muffins

These are super easy to make!  They are good for breakfast and lunch!  Make up a batch on sunday and it will get you through a few days!

10. Chicken Egg Drop Veggie Soup

I have made this a few times now and my hubby loves it!  So this is one you are going to have to wait for a recipe on!  Don’t worry check back tomorrow and it will be here!
